Initial Oral Examinations:
This is the first step to improving the health and appearance of your smile. Your initial oral examination includes a visual examination, charting, periodontal probing, necessary diagnoses, and treatment recommendations. We will also take x-rays of the anterior (front) and posterior (back) teeth, as well as the bitewing x-ray series for proper diagnosis of proximal decay of posterior teeth.
If removable dentures are not for you, we offer dental implants, which can be used to securely attach an artificial tooth, a permanent bridge, or even dentures, leaving you with a natural look and feel. We will work with an implant specialist to create an implant for a missing single tooth, missing multiple teeth, or replace a removable appliance. We are familiar with many different types of implants such as Biomet 3i and Astra.
Zoom Teeth Whitening:
Life is just better when you feel good about yourself. If having a dazzling, white smile would make you feel great, we can help! We use the Zoom teeth whitening system because it works. We offer the at-home Zoom bleaching system you take with you for results in two weeks. If you are interested in having a brighter smile, Dr. Tevrizian the San Marcos dentist is your best resource.
Crowns and Veneers:
Dental crowns are a noninvasive and relatively quick way to get a new and improved smile. If you have had a restorative procedure such as a root canal or have lost the use of teeth due to advanced decay, dental crowns can restore their function and appearance. For a total mouth makeover, we use all-porcelain crowns on the anterior teeth. For the posterior, we use porcelain fused to metal or zirconia crowns. Both materials are specially fitted to give you the natural look and feel you need.
Fillings (Composite Resin):
It’s likely that when you think of dental fillings, images of dark, metallic spots on teeth come to mind. Thankfully, getting a filling no longer needs to leave you with metal in your mouth. Composite resin dental fillings are just as effective and are a durable alternative to metal that we are proud to offer. Composite resin fillings are tooth-colored and light cured to match your teeth, so you are left with a beautiful, natural looking smile.
Root canals have a bad reputation, but for someone with a badly decayed tooth or painful infection, they offer much needed relief. The “root canal” is the natural space inside of each tooth. This space contains a soft “pulp” and the tooth’s nerve, which lets you know when something very hot or cold has come into contact with your teeth. When a patient receives a root canal treatment, the infected or badly damaged pulp and nerve are removed and the cavity inside the tooth is cleaned and sealed. Not getting a root canal when you need one will not only lead to lots of future pain for you, but also to infections in the area surrounding the tooth. If you are experiencing tooth pain due to decaying or an infection, please make an appointment. We perform root canals on anterior and premolar teeth.
You should have a standard cleaning at least twice a year. A periodontal (gum) treatment includes an Adult Prophy (basic cleaning). When you come to us for a basic cleaning, you will leave with polished, clean teeth. This painless treatment also serves as preventative care against gum disease. If it has been over a year since your last cleaning, possible treatment may include either Periodontal Scaling (deeper cleaning) or Root Planing.
Mouth guards are great tools for protecting your teeth. Not only do they protect the teeth themselves from breaking or chipping, but they also protect your tongue, lips, and other soft tissues in your mouth from damage. Whether you are an athlete or casual sports participant, you should wear a mouth guard. Athletes are not the only ones who need extra protection, though. If you grind your teeth while you sleep, a bite guard will help reduce symptoms of TMJ, a painful joint disorder in the jaw. We custom make mouth guards in both soft and hard materials.
Removable Dental Prosthesis:
If dental implants are not the right option for you, we can also provide removable dentures. For missing teeth, we can make complete dentures or removable partials for you. Complete dentures are right for you if all of your teeth are missing or have been removed in another procedure. Partial dentures are for those with some natural teeth remaining in the mouth, and they can be attached to a gum-colored base that is held securely by metal framework. When partials are removable, they have internal attachments that give you a more natural appearance than metal framework.
We look forward to improving your smile!
